E Mālama Mau I Ka Hula Festival 10/12/2024

Ua hoʻohanohano ʻia ʻo Puna e nā ʻōlapa o ka pae kula haʻahaʻa ma ka E Mālama Mau I Ka Hula Festival i mālama ʻia ma ka Ahfook-Chinen Civic Auditorium ma ʻOkakopa 12, 2024. Ua oli lākou i kekahi māhele o ke mele no ka moʻolelo ʻo Kalapana, ua hula iā Mokuhulu, Lei ana ʻo Puna a me ka paukū no Puna mai ke mele ʻo Hilo Hanakahi. ʻO ka ʻaʻahu hula, he lole aloha me ka pūhala a me na lei hala a ua hoʻonaninani ʻia me nā lei o nā ʻano like ʻole.

We celebrated the beauty of Puna in the E Mālama Mau I Ka Hula Festival this past October at the Ahfook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. Our elementary students chanted and danced about the beauty of our district, performing these mele: Mokuhulu, Lei Ana ʻo Puna, and the Puna verse from Hilo Hanakahi. We were dressed in lauhala print clothing and donned lei of different colors and styles.
